Light is the land

The Bàrdenas Reales is a semi-desert in the north of Spain.
The special micro climate turned this area into a moonlike landscape that is more reminiscent of an African or Mexican desert than the landscape of the Iberian peninsula.
Hot summers, icy winters, long dry periods interrupted by heavy rains and the constant wind, called Cierzo, formed this  unique and abrupt landscape of canyons and plateaus.
In the midday sun, the central zone - Bàrdena Blanca - transforms, thanks to the presence of white salts in the ground, into a pale white landscape.
“Light is the land” was shortlisted in the Professional Landscape category at the 2018 Sony World Photography Awards http://www.worldphoto.org/
